In order to legally teach in Spain, you must have a work permit. Teachers in Spain earn around 1,400 Euros per month. This is a enough to live off as Spain is a pretty cheap country to live in. If you go out drinking a lot, then an English teacher’s salary will not be enough for you. However, you can find private classes that will be able to augment your salary. Because of the push by the government to increase English proficiency, jobs are widely available. Moreover, taxes are not as high as in other parts of Europe like France or Holland.
