Who can apply?
Volunteer programs are generally open to everyone, so whether you’re a student, recent graduate or a working professional looking to change careers, you can find roles. If you are lacking experience most companies offer training courses and you can also consider taking a TEFL course.
Age requirements
Usually you will need to be aged 18+ to apply, but some companies offer special taster group trips for younger age groups.
Where to go
What destination you work in really depends on your personal interest in a specific program or destination. Every country is different and each trip offers a totally different experience. You will need to research all before applying to make sure it is right for you. On some programs you can combine experiences, for example doing multiple programs, like teaching in Thailand, you could teach children or communities, and also help elephants. Or go sightseeing in your spare time.
Application fee
Sometimes you will be required to pay a fee to participate, this generally covers placements, in-country support, accommodation and training. Lots of teaching abroad projects are also free.
