Teach English in Turkey

This wonderful country which bridges two continents is quite desperate to become a part of the EU. So you know what that means? Many, many people want to learn English, creating a huge boom in TEFL demand!

With some of the richest history in the world, Turkey boasts cheap living and some of the most fantastic food in the world. The sweets are incredible, and the slow-cooked meat dishes like the beef and onion stew Soganli Yanhi (as a general rule, food dishes in a foreign language are best written in italics) will melt in your mouth. So head out here yourself and experience some of that famed Turkish hospitality.

Although a TEFL course might be a bonus, some employers will only ask you be a native English teacher. This is good news on your wallet, as many courses cost in the region of £1000! And although the main demand is in the cities of Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, it’s possible to find jobs in smaller towns. Expect to earn between £500-£1000 per month. As many employers offer free accommodation, it means if you eat like the locals you will have an excellent standard of living. And as the working week averages at just 25 hours, you’ll have plenty of free time to socialise with your new friends
